When you need to protect the privacy of an email message, encrypt it. Encrypting an email message in Outlook means it's converted from readable plain text into scrambled cipher text.

Note: Invitee will receive a link to join via email. It will prompt them to sign into their Microsoft account to accept and join the family group. If they are under statutory age they will also be prompted to request adult consent.

If you get an email from Microsoft account team and the email address domain is @accountprotection.microsoft.com, it is safe to trust the message and open it.. Microsoft uses this domain to send email notifications about your Microsoft account.
