Windows Security provides built-in security options to help protect your device from malicious software attacks. To access the features described below, tap the Windows Start button, type windows security, select it from the results, and then select Device security.

Note: If you see the icon next to the On/Off toggle for an app, you can select it to see the registry location that contains the path for the app. Apps installed through Microsoft Store (.MSIX apps) don’t have these icons. The easiest way to get language packs for Windows 8.1 and Windows RT is to download and install them using the Language Control Panel. Download and install additional languages to view menus, dialog boxes, and other user interface items in your preferred language.

Find operating system info in Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1. To find out which version of Windows your device is running, press the Windows logo key key + R, type winver in the Open box, and then select OK.. If your device is running Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1, here’s how to learn more:

Note: If you start to play a DVD or VCD in the Player Library, the Player automatically switches to Now Playing mode. The Blu-ray Disc format is not supported in Windows Media Player. To play a Blu-ray Disc, you need to use a non-Microsoft program that supports Blu-ray playback and a device capable of reading Blu-ray Discs.

Select Add a printer or scanner.. Wait for it to find nearby scanners, then choose the one you want to use and select Add device.
