Setting up the modem and Internet connection. After you have all the equipment, you'll need to set up your modem and Internet connection. If your modem wasn't set up for you by your Internet service provider (ISP), follow the instructions that came with your modem to connect it to your PC and the Internet.

Enter your email, phone number, or Skype sign-in that you use for other services (Outlook, Excel, etc.), then select Next.

Note: Before selecting New, consider selecting the check box for "Prompt a profile to be used."If this is enabled, you will get a prompt every time you start Outlook to pick which profile you want to open. This is helpful when you have multiple profiles and need to switch between them.

Select Review activity to check for any unusual sign-in attempts on the Recent activity page.If you see account activity that you're sure wasn't yours, let us know and we can help secure your account—if it's in the Unusual activity section, you can expand the activity and select This wasn't me.If it's in the Recent activity section, you can expand the activity and select Secure your account.
