Just like the Word desktop program, Word for the web counts words while you type. If you don’t see the word count at the bottom of the window, make sure you’re in Editing view (click Edit Document > Edit in Word for the web).. Click the word count to switch it off and on.

Select Design > Paragraph Spacing.. Hover the cursor over each option to see a preview, and then select the option you want. For single spacing, select No Paragraph Space.. Change line spacing for part of your document

Verification codes. No. The codes don't require you to be on the internet or connected to data, so you don't need phone service to sign in. Additionally, because the app stops running as soon as you close it, it won't drain your battery.
