Open or import items from an offline Outlook Data File (.ost)
Outlook Data Files (.ost) are used when you have an Exchange account and want to work offline or use or use the default Cached Exchange Mode. This type of data file is also used for accounts that you set up with the Outlook Connector for Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail).

Troubleshoot the Teams Meeting add-in in Outlook for Windows

This feature allows you to access your previously downloaded or synchronized email messages, calendar information, contacts, and tasks without an internet connection. Certain types of accounts, such as POP accounts, store their information in the Outlook Data File (.pst) format.

Create an Outlook Data File (.pst) to save your information

Save an Outlook message as a .eml file, a PDF file, or as a draft
Save a message as a file on your computer or in the cloud. In Mail, from the message list, select the message you want to save so it opens in the reading pane, or double-click the message to open to open it in a new window. From the message header, select More actions > Save as.
