There are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if you can't find the one you're looking for, you can try another location. Note that some apps and programs are built into Windows and can't be uninstalled. You can try to repair a program first, if it's just not running correctly.

First, you'll need to download the troubleshooter. Download troubleshooter. If you see the File Download box when you start downloading, select Run or Open. The troubleshooter provides steps for you to follow. If a program isn't listed in the uninstall options, you'll be asked for that program's product code.

Use this tool to find and remove specific prevalent threats and reverse the changes that they made (see Covered malware families). For comprehensive malware detection and removal, consider using Windows Defender Offline or Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. When critical Windows system files are missing or corrupted, some Windows features may stop working correctly or Windows may stop responding altogether.

We recommend that you regularly service OS installation images to update Microsoft Defender binaries and minimize this protection gap in new deployments. You should follow a three-month update frequency routine. No ordering is required to apply the latest cumulative update (LCU) versus the Microsoft Defender update offline.

Go to microsoft365.com and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account. Select Install and more, and then select Install Microsoft 365 apps. Select Install Office, and then open the OfficeSetup.exe file that downloads to your computer.

Find or search for Paint or Snipping Tool, select the three dots to the right-hand side, and then select Uninstall. After you uninstall the Paint/Snipping Tool app, you can reinstall it by following these instructions: Download the Paint/Snipping Tool installer file.

Get Help has troubleshooters you can run for many common scenarios. These often help resolve issues without the need to contact support. If a troubleshooter is available for your issue, select Run to start that troubleshooter.
