The Windows Photos app is a built-in application for Windows operating systems that allows users to view, organize, edit, and share their photos and videos. With its user-friendly interface and a wide range of features, it serves as a versatile tool for managing digital media on Windows devices.

Edit a photo. With the Photos app, you can easily crop, rotate, add a filter, and automatically enhance your photos. In the search box on the taskbar, enter photos. From the list, select Photos . Then select the photo you’d like to change. Select Edit & Create at the top of your screen.

To browse photos within a folder, open a photo from the Folders view or File Explorer, then swipe right or use the arrow keys to see the next item. Click on a photo to show the buttons at the top, including Zoom , Delete , Rotate , Edit & Create , Share , and Print .

Windows Photo Viewer isn't part of Windows 10, but if you upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you might still have it. To check, press and hold (or right-click) a photo in File Explorer, and select Open with. If Windows Photo Viewer isn't in the list, you cannot install it on Windows 10.

Windows 11 and Windows 10 have an app named Photos, a successor to Picture Manager, that lets you edit photos. For information on how to open and use it, see Edit photos and videos.

If installation doesn't start automatically, browse the disc to find the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe or Install.exe. Open the file to start installation. Insert the disc into your PC, and then follow the instructions on your screen. You might be asked for an admin password.
