Find the Recycle Bin. If your desktop shows no icons at all, right-click (or press and hold) the desktop and select View. If Show desktop icons has no checkmark, click it to add one. If that doesn't work, try this: Select Start > Settings > Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings.

To decompress files. Open File Explorer and find the compressed folder. To unzip the entire folder, right-click to select Extract All, and then follow the instructions. You can also select Extract All from the command ribbon. To decompress a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it.

Windows 11 Windows 10. Select Start > Settings > Apps > Default apps. To change the default app, you can do either of the following: Set a default for a file type or link type.
