Click File > Open. Double-click the name of the workbook that you have open in Excel. Click Yes to reopen the workbook. The workbook opens without any changes you made that might have caused the workbook to become corrupted. Recover data when you can't open the workbook in Excel.

There are four pieces of information that you will need in order to build the VLOOKUP syntax: The value you want to look up, also called the lookup value. The range where the lookup value is located. Remember that the lookup value should always be in the first column in the range for VLOOKUP to work correctly.

Here's an example of how to use VLOOKUP. =VLOOKUP (B2,C2:E7,3,TRUE) In this example, B2 is the first argument —an element of data that the function needs to work. For VLOOKUP, this first argument is the value that you want to find. This argument can be a cell reference, or a fixed value such as "smith" or 21,000.

Click the relationship ( <=, =, >=, int, bin, or dif) that you want between the referenced cell and the constraint.If you click int, integer appears in the Constraint box. If you click bin, binary appears in the Constraint box. If you click dif, alldifferent appears in the Constraint box.

The RANK function syntax has the following arguments: Number Required. The number whose rank you want to find. Ref Required. A reference to a list of numbers. Nonnumeric values in ref are ignored. Order Optional. A number specifying how to rank number.
