In this case, the 32-bit version of Microsoft 365 or Office will be installed instead. To change from a 32-bit version to a 64-bit version or vice versa, you need to uninstall Microsoft 365 first (including any stand-alone Microsoft 365 apps you have such as Project of Visio).

Find the shortcut icon for your Office application. Press and hold the CTRL key and double-click the application shortcut. Click Yes when a window appears asking if you want to start the application in Safe Mode. Note: To stop Office Safe Mode, exit and restart your Office application.

Download and install or reinstall Office 2021, Office 2019, or Office 2016. Important: Support for Office 2016 and Office 2019 will end on October 14, 2025 and there will be no extension and no extended security updates. All of your Office 2016 and Office 2019 apps will continue to function.

Open the Office folder in the virtual drive, and then select either the Setup32.exe to install the 32-bit version of Microsoft 365, or Setup64.exe to install the 64-bit version to begin the offline installation.

There are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if you can't find the one you're looking for, you can try another location. Note that some apps and programs are built into Windows and can't be uninstalled. You can try to repair a program first, if it's just not running correctly.

First, you'll need to download the troubleshooter. Download troubleshooter. If you see the File Download box when you start downloading, select Run or Open. The troubleshooter provides steps for you to follow. If a program isn't listed in the uninstall options, you'll be asked for that program's product code.

When an app is removed from Microsoft Store, it takes a little time for the app description page to get removed. In addition, some apps and games aren't available in Microsoft Store, but can be downloaded from the publisher's site directly. The app isn't compatible with your device.

Alternatively, if installation doesn't start automatically, browse the disc to find the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe or Install.exe. Open the file to start installation.
