Install and use a scanner in Windows 10. Applies To. When you connect a scanner to your device or add a new scanner to your home network, you can usually start scanning pictures and documents right away. If your scanner doesn't automatically install, here's some help to get things working.

Press and hold (or right-click) on the app, then select Uninstall. Uninstall in Settings. Select Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features . Find the app you want to remove, select More > Uninstall. Note: Some apps can't be uninstalled from the Settings app right now.

In most cases, all you have to do to set up a scanner is to connect it to your device. Plug the USB cable from your scanner into an available USB port on your device, and turn the scanner on. If that doesn't work, here's a way to do it manually. Add a printer or scanner.

Scan a document as a PDF file and edit it in Word. Tip: The conversion works best with documents that are mostly text. Scan your document according to the instructions for your scanner, and save it to your computer as a .pdf file. In Word, click File > Open.

Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners . Open Printers & scanners settings. Next to Add a printer or scanner, select Add device. Wait for it to find nearby printers, then locate the one you want to use, and select Add device.

Open the table or report you want to publish as a PDF. On the External Data tab, in the Export group, select PDF or XPS. In the File Name field, type or select a name for the document. In the Save as type list, select PDF (*.pdf) .

Click Download, and then open the PDF in a desktop application or viewer. You can then print the PDF from your application. Edit the contents of a PDF. Before you can change the contents of a PDF, you need to convert it to an editable format, such as .docx.

From the Overview page, select Office apps and on that page, find the Microsoft 365 product you want to install and select Install. To install Microsoft 365 in a different language, or to install the 64-bit version, use the dropdown to find more options. Choose the language and bit version you want, and then select Install.
