You can search your email for a single word or phrase, but Outlook also includes a number of built-in searches. To find a message based on one of these built-in searches select the Filter Email button on the Ribbon.

In Outlook.com, you can use the search bar at the top of the page to search for email messages, contacts, or files. In the Search box in Mail, type what you want to search for (a contact, subject, part of a message, or name of a file) and press Enter.
