Uninstall or remove apps and programs in Windows. There are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if you can't find the one you're looking for, you can try another location. Note that some apps and programs are built into Windows and can't be uninstalled.

Solution 1: Check that your sound is not muted. Some games run in full-screen mode, so you can't see the taskbar. Here's how to check that your sound is not turned down low or muted: Press the Start button on your Windows 10/11 device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the main screen.

Codecs allow you to play different formats of audio and video files. Media Player supports a wide variety of codecs. Most are included out of the box; some additional codecs can be installed from the Microsoft Store.

Windows 10. Windows Sonic is a spatial sound solution in Windows that can enhance your movie or gaming experience. Here’s how to turn it on: Select Start > Settings > System > Sound. Select your playback device under Output devices.

Voice Recorder is an app for recording lectures, conversations, and other sounds (previously called Sound Recorder). Hit the big Record button (1), and Add a marker (3) to identify key moments as you record or play (2).

Restart your computer. Windows will attempt to reinstall your audio devices and drivers automatically. If it does not, right-click the Start button and select Device Manager. Right-click the Sound, video and game controllers section and select Scan for hardware changes.
