If some Windows functions aren't working or Windows crashes, use the System File Checker to scan Windows and restore your files. Though the steps below might look complicated at first glance, just follow them in order, step-by-step, and we’ll try to get you back on track.

Uninstall from the Start menu. Select Start > All apps and search for the app in the list shown. Press and hold (or right-click) on the app, then select Uninstall. Uninstall in Settings. Select Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features . Find the app you want to remove, select More > Uninstall.

Select Update Driver. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions. Reinstall the device driver. In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.

Check sound settings. 6. Fix your audio drivers. 7. Set your audio device as the default device. 8. Turn off audio enhancements. 9. Restart Audio Services

Open the Surface app. In the Surface app, expand Help & support to check if the update status is "You're up to date" or something else. If needed, select the option to update the devices. Note: If you don't have the Surface app installed, you can download the Surface app from the Microsoft Store.

Select Device details. Select Manage in Windows Security. Select Quick scan. Tips: If you want a deeper scan, instead of selecting Quick scan in step 3, select Scan options and choose the type of scan you want. For the most complete scan, run Microsoft Defender Offline. How to open PC Health Check. In Windows, use Search on the taskbar to search for “PC Health Check,” then select it from the list of results. If a PC Health Check update is available, you can quickly install it for the latest version.

Download and install apps. As you're getting your Microsoft 365 business subscription set up, you'll want to download and install your Microsoft 365 apps, like Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint, on your PC or Mac. Go to microsoft365.com and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account. Select Install apps.

The Microsoft 365 Access Runtime enables you to distribute Access 365 applications to users who don't have Microsoft Office installed on their computers or a version of Microsoft Office that doesn’t include Access.

If you already redeemed a product key, you're simply reinstalling the apps, or you know you have an assigned license through work or school, you can skip ahead and go to the section sign in to download and install Microsoft 365 or Office.
