View and compare documents side by side. Open both of the files that you want to compare. On the View tab, in the Window group, click View Side by Side. If you don't see Synchronous Scrolling, click Window on the View tab, and then click Synchronous Scrolling.

You can review differences between the current version and an earlier or later version of the same project in a detailed report. On the Report tab, choose Compare Projects. Select the project version you want to compare from the drop-down list. To locate project versions, choose Browse.
