Use this app to try to recover lost files that have been deleted from your local storage device (including internal drives, external drives, and USB devices) and can’t be restored from the Recycle Bin.

Follow these steps to automatically diagnose and repair problems with files and folders in Windows. These problems might include the inablility to delete files or folders from the Recycle Bin, or troubles with trying to copy, move, rename, or delete a file. Select the Download button on this page.

Go to the OneDrive website, and sign in with either your Microsoft account or your work or school account. In the navigation pane, select Recycle bin. Select the files or folders you want to restore by pointing to each item and clicking the circle check box that appears, and then click Restore.

If any OneDrive files or folders were deleted, overwritten, corrupted, or infected by malware, you can restore your entire OneDrive to a previous time. If you don't want to restore everything, you can also restore deleted files from the OneDrive recycle bin or restore a previous version of a file.

From the OneDrive mobile app, your only option is to delete the file. Select the file you want to delete (on the mobile app, select the More icon next to the file). Select Delete. If your organization allows it, you can download the file by viewing your OneDrive in a web browser.
