If you delete files or folders that you're syncing, you can restore them from the Windows recycle bin on your PC. To put your Windows recycle bin on your desktop, see Show or hide the Recycle Bin. The information in this article also applies to OneDrive (for work or school) files.

Restore an item from the SharePoint in Microsoft 365 site collection Recycle bin. On modern team sites and classic sites (subsites), in the left pane, select Recycle bin. On modern communication sites, select Site contents, and then select Recycle bin in the top navigation bar.

If you accidentally delete a file or folder in OneDrive, you may be able to recover it later from the OneDrive recycle bin, and if you're a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you can even restore your entire OneDrive if something goes wrong.

Step 1: Select files or folders in a SharePoint library to move or copy. Step 2: On the command bar along the top, select Move to or Copy to. Note: If you don't see Move to or Copy to on your command bar, select the ellipsis icon (More) and then select Move to or Copy to.

The SharePoint Application Management settings page lets you turn the site recycle bin on or off, set the number of days that deleted items are retained in the recycle bin, and set how much storage space the second stage (site collection) recycle bin uses.
