Use the Office offline installer to install Office 2016 or Office 2013 if you don't have an active Internet connection or you're having problems with slow speed or unreliable connections.

Go to office.com/setup and sign in with an existing Microsoft account or create a new one, then enter your product key. Follow the remaining prompts to finish linking your Microsoft account with this version of Microsoft 365.

Try guided support. If Office activation fails, you'll see Unlicensed Product or Non-commercial use / Unlicensed Product in the title bar of your Office apps, and most features of Office are disabled. To restore all features of Office, you'll need to fix the problem that's causing activation to fail.

If installation doesn't start automatically, browse the disc to find the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe or Install.exe. Open the file to start installation. Insert the disc into your PC, and then follow the instructions on your screen. You might be asked for an admin password.

If you have a new, never used product key, go to www.office.com/setup and follow the on-screen prompts. Get help with Office.com/setup. Get help with product key errors. If you bought Microsoft 365 through the Microsoft Store you can enter your product key there. Go to www.microsoftstore.com.

Step 1: Set a reminder to enable automatic updates at a future date. Before you revert an Office installation, you should disable automatic updates. To make sure that you don't miss future updates, set a reminder to manually check for future versions.

If the setup wizard doesn’t start automatically, navigate to the disc drive and click SETUP.EXE. When prompted, enter the product key. If you need help, see Find your product key for Office 2010 .

Insert the Office 2010 disc into the drive. If the setup wizard doesn't start automatically, click the file folder icon on the taskbar or press ⊞ Win + E keys on your keyboard, right-click the disc drive icon, select Open, and then double-click setup.exe. When prompted, enter the product key.
