Exit Internet Explorer 6, and then exit any instances of Windows Explorer. Click Start, click Run, type inetcpl.cpl, and then press ENTER. On the General tab, click Delete Cookies in the Temporary Internet Files section of the Internet Properties dialog box.

Select Manage and delete cookies and site data and disable Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended) to block all cookies.

Delete your browsing history. Regularly deleting your browsing history helps protect your privacy, especially if you're using a shared or public PC. In Internet Explorer, select the Tools button, point to Safety, and then select Delete browsing history.

Turn off search history. When search history is off nothing new is added to your search history. Your existing history isn't deleted. To delete your search history, you need to clear it. If you can't turn off search history, enable JavaScript and cookies in your browser, and then try again.

The Temporary Internet Files (or cache) folder is used by Windows Internet Explorer and by MSN Explorer to store webpage content on the computer hard disk for quick viewing.

This cache lets Internet Explorer or MSN Explorer download only the content that has changed since you last viewed a webpage, instead of downloading all the content every time that the page is displayed.
