You can only install this DirectX version through Windows Update in Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Server 2012. DirectX 11.2 is included in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2. There is no stand-alone update package for DirectX 11.2.

If you get an error code while downloading and installing Windows updates, the Update Troubleshooter can help resolve the problem. Select Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Next, under Most frequent, select Windows Update > Run.

When you try to install a Microsoft game, you receive one of the following error messages immediately after you start the installation: Error message 1. Error -1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime. Error message 2. Error - 1628: failed to complete installation.

Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options. Under Active hours, choose to update manually or automatically in Windows 11. If you want to adjust your active hours manually, select the start time and end time for active hours.
