Startup Repair is a Windows recovery tool that can fix certain system problems that might prevent Windows from starting. It scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so your computer can start correctly.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\RepairSource\Windows /LimitAccess. In the above command, replace the C:\RepairSource\Windows placeholder with the location of your repair source. For more information about using the DISM tool to repair Windows, see Repair a Windows Image.

The Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter helps you automatically repair issues when you're blocked from installing or removing programs.

Use the audio troubleshooter if you experience issues with sound on your computer. Open the Get Help app.. In the Search bar, enter audio troubleshooter .. If asked to consent to proceed with diagnostics, select Yes .. Allow a few moments for the scan to complete.

Tips: If you want a deeper scan, instead of selecting Quick scan in step 3, select Scan options and choose the type of scan you want.. For the most complete scan, run Microsoft Defender Offline. For more about that see Help protect my PC with Microsoft Defender Offline.

Click Start , type msconfig in the Search box, and then click msconfig.exe. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation. On the General tab, click Normal startup, click OK, and then click Restart.

Repair programs in Control Panel. You can repair some apps and programs if they're not running correctly. Note that you won't see repair, change, or modify options for all apps and programs.

In the Settings app on your Windows device, Apps > Startup or use the following shortcut: Startup. For any of the applications in the list. set the toggle to On to start the app automatically when you sign in. set the toggle to Off to prevent the app from starting automatically. If you want to change the advanced settings for that app, select the chevron and make changes as desired
