Press Windows logo key + S or select Search, type cmd, and then select Run as administrator under Command Prompt on the right side. Then type the following command and press Enter: schtasks.exe /Run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser".

Symptoms. ActiveX is automatically deleted in Windows 10 (x86) when a SilentCleanup task is run. In Windows 8.1 and earlier versions, SilentCleanup was run only when free disk space fell below 10 percent of the entire disk space.

When you use the Scheduled Tasks Wizard to schedule a task, the task runs as you expect. However, if you use the Schtasks.exe command-line tool to create a schedule for the same task, the task does not run at the time when you scheduled it.

The following commands should be run in an elevated command prompt to create a scheduled task. The task executes a command as SYSTEM to run the cleanup tool. Then, the task is deleted. When you use the /z switch together with the Schtasks.exe command in Windows Vista, you may receive the following error message:

Depending on how the applications are installed and registered in Windows, there are different ways to configure their startup behavior: Any applications that are registered in Windows with a startup task can be configured from Settings or from Task Manager. Other applications can be configured using File Explorer.
