Save your PowerPoint presentation as a PowerPoint Show (a .ppsx file) so it automatically starts the slide show when the file is opened.

Extract files or objects from a PowerPoint file - Microsoft Support
If you want to separately use files or objects from a PowerPoint presentation, such as videos, photos, or sounds, you can extract them by converting the presentation to a “zipped” file folder. Note, however, that you can't extract PDFs or .dotx files. The following procedure works on Windows, but not on macOS.

Recover your PowerPoint files - Microsoft Support
AutoRecover is a PowerPoint feature that attempts to recover files automatically in the event of a crash, power failure, or other unexpected application shutdown. It does this by periodically saving a copy of the file in the background. By default, AutoRecover saves a recovery file every 10 minutes.
