The Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is a highly compatible, in-place update to the Microsoft .NET Framework 4, 4.5, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1 and 4.7.2. The offline package can be used in situations in which the web installer cannot be used because of lack of Internet connectivity.

Cause. This issue occurs because client-side caching (CSC) aborts the sync handle to make sure that other processes can access a file that is synchronizing. After the sync handle is aborted, CSC returns a STATUS_CONNECTION_DISCONNECTED status code, and then that results in an ERROR_NETNAME_DELETED error code.

Fixes an issue in which a certificate that has multiple chains cannot be validated in Windows Server 2008 or in Windows Vista. This issue occurs when one chain has a revoked certificate.

The Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (Offline Installer) is now available for the .NET Framework 4 and the .NET Framework 4.5. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, you can use the offline installer instead of the web installer to install this update.

Fixes a Windows Server 2008 issue in which a cluster disk resource that depends on another cluster disk resource remains offline. This issue occurs when the Cluster service tries to restart the resources after they enter a failed state.
