If you accidentally delete a file or folder in OneDrive, you may be able to recover it later from the OneDrive recycle bin, and if you're a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you can even restore your entire OneDrive if something goes wrong.

Recover your PowerPoint files. AutoRecover is a PowerPoint feature that attempts to recover files automatically in the event of a crash, power failure, or other unexpected application shutdown. It does this by periodically saving a copy of the file in the background.

Sign in to SharePoint. SharePoint is a browser-based app that you connect to through your web browser, like so: Go to office.com, and sign in to your work or school account. In the upper left corner of the window, select the app launcher > All apps > SharePoint.

To view SharePoint files in File Explorer, we recommend first making the SharePoint files available in the folders on your device. To do so, whether you're using Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or another browser, you can use either Add shortcut to My files or Sync.

Restore an item from the SharePoint in Microsoft 365 site collection Recycle bin. On modern team sites and classic sites (subsites), in the left pane, select Recycle bin. On modern communication sites, select Site contents, and then select Recycle bin in the top navigation bar.

Select Teams in Teams. Select the team you want to delete a file from. Find the file you want to delete. Hover over the file and select More options > Delete. To delete several files at once, hover over each file and select the circled check mark in the left column.
