Microsoft Clipchamp is your go-to tool for video editing in Windows 10. With its user-friendly interface and extensive range of editing options, you can easily create high-quality videos, whether you're working on a simple or more detailed project.

But if the photos and videos you want to use are HEIF (High Efficiency Image File) or HEVC (High Efficiency Video Codec) files, you might see a message in the Photos app Video Editor that says “You need an extension to use this file.” There are three different ways to fix this.

Video Editor: For fast and simple editing, we've added Clipchamp to the Microsoft family. The Clipchamp video editor empowers anyone to tell stories worth sharing. You can download it from Microsoft Store or install it from within the Photos app by selecting Settings > Open Clipchamp.
