How can I give Skype Credit as a gift to my friends and family?

Important: Starting in May 2025, Skype will no longer be available. By logging in to Microsoft Teams Free with your Skype account, your chats and contacts will appear in the app so you can pick up where you left off. ​​​​​​​There are two ways to give Skype Credit as a gift: buy a Skype voucher online or send someone your own Skype Credit from your account balance.

If you don't have Skype Credit available on your account, you can purchase a Skype Credit voucher to send to one of your Skype contacts as a gift.

  1. Go to the Send Skype Credit to friends and family page.

  2. Select the contact you want to send credit to.

  3. Select the amount of credit you would like to send and a gift card design.

  4. Select Buy Skype Credit and we'll take you through the purchase process.

You can send any of your existing Skype contacts some of your own Skype Credit as a gift. The credit will be deducted from the balance in your account.

  1. Go to the 1:1 chat with your Skype contact.

  2. Select the more options button more options button on desktop or the plus Add-in button on mobile button on mobile.

  3. Select Send Skype Credit .

  4. Select the amount and a gift card design.

  5. When ready, select the Send Credit button.

If your Skype account currency is different to the currency in your friend’s account, we will convert the credit to their currency at European Central Bank rates.
