What is Skype Manager™ and how does it work?

UPDATE: Skype Manager will officially be retired on December 1, 2025. Please read on for detailed information about the retirement and steps you should take before December 1, 2025.  

1. When will Skype Manager be retired?  

Starting December 1, 2025, Skype Manager will be retired therefore we encourage everyone to take necessary steps to ensure Skype Manager admins are rightly assigned and any outstanding balance is taken care of.  

2. Can I still use the credit on my Skype Manager account? 

Admins can assign credit to users and it can be used through Skype Dial Pad. More info on how to access and use Dial Pad here. 

3. Can I still use subscriptions allocated from Skype Manager? 

Yes, as long your subscription has not expired, you can keep using it through Skype Dial Pad. After the expiration date, there is no possibility to extend your subscription (calling or Skype Number). 

4. Will I still be able to receive calls to my Skype Number?  

Yes, you will be able to receive phone calls to your Skype Number for the remainder of your existing subscription, both on the Skype web portal and from within Teams Free. If you’re operating from the Skype web portal, you’ll need to have your browser open in order to be alerted of an incoming call. If you choose to use the Skype Dial Pad from the Teams Free mobile and desktop apps, you’ll receive push notifications for all incoming calls, just like you did from the Skype app. 

5. Can I keep my Skype Number? 

To transfer or port your Skype Number to a new carrier, please reach out to your new carrier directly to start the porting process. 

6. Who can manage my Skype Manager account? 

Admins are the only ones who can manage your Skype Manager account so ensuring there is up to date information on admin’s account is essential for communication with customer support if you have inquiries later.  

7. What happens to members of my Skype Manager account? 

Nothing happens to the members’ Skype/Microsoft accounts, however they will no longer be part of your Skype Manager and you can no longer assign them credits. 

8. Can I purchase something else with Skype Credit from my Manager account? 

Skype Credits are designated for calling purposes on Skype. You can use the remainder of your credit for calling through Skype Dial Pad, this functionality stays until you have credit on your account. 

9. How can I export my data from Skype Manager? 

Until December 1, 2025 we encourage everyone to export their statements and any other information needed. If the portal is no longer accessible, admins can reach out to customer support for any enquires.  

10. What else is changing?   

The following services are no longer available starting May 5, 2025: SMS, Call forwarding, Voicemail, Skype Credit gifting, and Caller ID setup.
