To adjust the adaptive brightness feature, find your Surface and follow the specific instructions for that model.

If you have a Surface Go model, Surface Laptop 2, Surface Laptop 3 with Intel processor, Surface Laptop 4 with Intel processor, Surface Laptop Go, Surface Laptop Go 2, Surface Pro 6, Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro 7+, Surface Book 3:

  1. Open the Intel Graphics Command Center app, available from Microsoft Store.

  2. Select System from the left menu, then select Power from the top menu.

  3. First try sliding the Power Efficiency setting to the left to improve the graphics quality, while still saving some battery life.

  4. If you're still seeing screen brightness changes you don't want, move the Display Power Savings setting to Off.

If you have a Surface Laptop 3 15” with AMD processor or Surface Laptop 4 with AMD processor:

  1. Select the battery icon on the Windows taskbar.

  2. Move the slider to the Best performance setting.
