This article describes the information that is collected from a computer when you run the Microsoft Dynamics GP Baseline Diagnostic. It with also run analysis scripts against the collected data to determine if there are data consistency issues.

Basic System Information including machine name, service pack, computer model and processor name and speed


Local files and lists of files

All *.set files from GP folder
Dynamics configuration file
Dynamics ini file
List of files in the GP, GP Data, and GP Addins folders
Port Exhaustion Information
TCP/IP Adapter Information
Text file containing results of ipconfig.exe and TCP settings
Text file containing the list of installed applications on workstation
Text file containing UserName, DSN, SQL Server Instance, and path to GP folder used to run diagnostic







SQL Server Information


File name

SQL Datbase Information (list of databases and settings for each)
SQL Instance name that GP is installed on
SQL Version information


In addition to collecting the information that is described earlier, this diagnostic package can detect one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Verify Dynamics GP is on a supported version

  • Verify SQL Server 2008 R2 at least SP1 installed

  • Verify companies in Dynamics GP have existing SQL DB

  • Check for 32 bit ODBC DSN

  • Check for 64-bit Dexterity Shared Components on 64-bit OS

  • Sql Data Files have been collected

  • Local Data Files have been collected
