Symptoms

The evaluation of configuration items in System Center Configuration Manager causes a setting discovery error on Configuration Manager clients if the following conditions are true:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (any service pack level) is installed on the client.

  • The configuration item contains a setting type of "SQL query" and has an instance of SQL Server that's defined as "All instances."
