Introduction

This article describes a country-specific update for India that is available for register update on partial packing slip and invoice in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1.

Three issues are fixed by this update:
Excise registers not reflecting adjusted excise amounts.
The statutory excise RG23A Part I and Part II registers are updated with incorrect amounts when you post partial packing slips and partial invoices.
Excise register RG23A Part II is not updated only during invoice.

Excise registers not reflecting adjusted excise amounts

1. Create a purchase order.

2. Attach excise tax and excise record type RG23D.

3. Post the packing slip.

4. General ledger >> Inquiries >> Tax >> India posted tax >> Excise >> Excise register balance

5. Check the CENVAT credit.
   It should not be updated with the excise tax amount.

6. Go to the purchase Order and then click invoice.

7. Click the sales tax button.

8. Go to the Adjustment tab, enter adjusted amount and then click Apply.

9. Click Save, close the form and Post the invoice.

10. Go to General ledger >> Inquiries >> Tax >> India posted tax >> Excise >> Excise register balance

11. Check the CENVAT Credit.

The statutory excise RG23A Part I and Part II registers are updated with incorrect amounts when you post partial packing slips and partial invoices

1. Set GL vendor calculation date type as "delivery date."

2. Create a purchase order.

3. Create two lines with quantity 5 and 3.

4. Attach excise tax to both the lines and attach excise record type RG23A and make sure that tax is getting calculated.

5. Create packing slip, change the quantity to 3 in first line.

6. Delete the second line.

7. Post the packing slip.

8. Run excise register from General ledger> Inquiries> Tax>India posted tax > Excise> Excise register.

9. Go to the purchase order.

10. Post the invoice by setting quantity to "Packing slip."

11. Rerun excise register from General ledger> Inquiries> Tax>India posted tax > Excise> Excise register.

RG23A Part I should not update again

1. Set general ledger vendor calculation date type as "delivery date."

2. Create a purchase order.

3. Create two lines with quantity 5 and 3.

4. Attach excise tax to both the lines and attach excise record type RG23A and make sure that tax is getting calculated.

5. Create packing slip, change the quantity to 3 in first line.

6. Delete the second line.

7. Post the packing slip.

8. Run excise register from General ledger> Inquiries> Tax>India posted tax > Excise> Excise register.

9. Set general ledger vendor calculation date type as "delivery date."

10. Go to Accounts Payable / Setup / Parameters, Updates tab, and check the field "Post packing slip in ledger."

11. Create a purchase order for quantity 100.

12. Update line item, sales tax group, item sales tax group and excise record details in tax information tab and excise record type: RG23APost packing slip for the quantity 50.
