Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You are running a Transaction Integrator IMS application that uses an 8-character Transaction Program name.

  • The Conversational Program property of the TI method that you're using is set to TRUE.

In this scenario, an additional, blank (0x’40’) character is added to the Transaction Program name.

Cause

This issue occurs because of inconsistent name handling.

Resolution

Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010

Cumulative update information

The fix that resolves this problem is included in Cumulative Update 10 for Host Integration Server 2010. For more information, see Cumulative Update 10 for Host Integration Server 2010.

Workaround

To work around this problem, set the Conversational Program property of the TI method that you're using to FALSE. Then, a correct 8-byte Transaction Program name is used.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
