You use Windows Internet Explorer 8 to browse a website that is using Internet Explorer 8 mode. When you browse to another website that is using Internet Explorer 8 Standards mode, the browser tab may crash with an "Access Violation" error. Then, a Recovered tab is opened.
This problem occurs in Windows XP, in Windows Server 2003, in Windows Vista, and in Windows Server 2008. This problem does not occur in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2.
This problem does not occur when the website is configured for compatibility mode.
This problem does not occur in Internet Explorer 9.
To resolve this problem, install this update.
