An Office Communicator call to Response Group cannot be forwarded to a PSTN number when no member in the group answers the call

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You set up a Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Response Group service to forward an incoming call when there are no members in the group to answer the call.

  • The number that the call is forwarded to is a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) number.

  • You call this Response Group by using Office Communicator.

  • No member in the group answers your call.

In this scenario, the call cannot be forwarded.

Resolution

To fix this problem, install the following cumulative update:

2284304 Description of the cumulative update for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Response Group Service: July 2010

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
