Symptoms

An update is available to apply the following changes to Microsoft Lync 2010. The changes are used to highlight the importance of setting location that is related to the Enhanced 911 (E911) feature:

  • In the Edit Location window, the The information below is used for emergency services only and not shared with others if your company has deployed these capabilities text is replaced by the The information below will only be shared with emergency services providers, and only if your company is using Lync for emergency dialing text.Note To open the Edit Location window, click the down-arrow next to the Set Your Location field, and then click the Set Location… button or the custom location in Lync 2010. The Set Location... button is unavailable if you do not have location information..

  • The tool tip text of the Set Your Location field is replaced by the following text:Please set your location so Enhanced Emergency Services can find you if you call 911.

  • The Set Location button is made as a single function button. The button displays the disclaimer when the location policy is set to the disclaimer value.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
