Changes are made for Japanese holidays in the Outlook holiday file (Outlook.HOL). To apply these changes in Outlook 2016 for Windows, follow these steps:

Step 1: Delete existing holidays for Japan (Go to Step 2 if you don't have any holidays for Japan.)

  1. In Calendar view, select View > Change View > List.

  2. In the Arrangement group, select Categories. This sorts all the events by category.

  3. Scroll through the list of calendar events until you see the Holiday category. Holidays are sorted by location, which arranges all holidays by country or region.

  4. Select and delete the holiday events for Japan.

Step 2: Apply March 5, 2019, update for Outlook 2016 (KB4462196)

Step 3: Add the latest Japanese holidays to your calendar

  1. Select File > Options > Calendar.

  2. In the right pane, select Add Holidays under Calendar options.

  3. In the Add holidays to Calendar dialog box, select the Japan option, and then click OK.
