Latest updates for versions of Office that use Windows Installer (MSI)
This update provides the Junk Email Filter in Microsoft Outlook 2010 with a more current definition of those characteristics that define certain email messages as junk email. This update has a prerequisite and was released on April 5, 2016.

To determine whether the update is installed on the computer, follow these steps, as appropriate for the operating system that you're running.
Windows 10-
Go to Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.

Examine the list for update KB3114999.
Note To uninstall this update, locate and then select update KB3114999, and then select Uninstall.
Windows 8 and Windows 8.1-
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. Or, if you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.

Enter windows update, select Windows Update, and then select Installed Updates.

Examine the list for update KB3114999. If the update is in the list, note its Install On date.
Note To uninstall this update, locate and then select update KB3114999, and then select Uninstall.
Windows 7-
Go to Start , enter appwiz.cpl in the Search programs and files box, and then press Enter.

Select View installed updates.

In the list of updates, locate update KB3114999.

If update KB3114999 is in the list of updates, the update is installed successfully on the computer.
Note To uninstall this update, locate and then select update KB3114999, and then select Uninstall.

If you encounter any of these issues, try the following methods:
Method 1: Reset Windows Update components and then try updating your computer
To reset the Windows Update components automatically, select the Download button or link. Select Run in the File Download dialog box, and then follow the steps in the Easy fix wizard.

We suggest you to install the updates in clean boot mode to avoid the interruption of non-Microsoft programs. To start clean boot mode, follow these steps:

Go to Start, enter msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.

If you're prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, enter the password or select Continue.

On the General tab, select Selective Startup.

Under Selective Startup, clear the Load Startup Items check box.

Select the Services tab, select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then select Disable All.

Select OK.

When you're prompted, select Restart.

Try to update your computer again.

If you update your administrative installation point and then you recache and reinstall Outlook 2010 on client computers, you can run a command-line command that includes the REINSTALL=[ list of features ] property. This property specifies whether you want to reinstall specific components of Outlook 2010 from the administrative image.
