Overview

The archive is an XML file that can be exported from a closed period grand total journal. It includes the closed period's totals, detailed sales transaction and event data. The exported file is digitally signed and the signature is contained in a separate file.

The archive format is implemented by using the Electronic reporting.

Prerequisites

Before using the Archive export format, you should install the Electronic reporting (GER) and Tax Engine cumulative update 5:

This update contains a binary part. To Implement it, you should download and install the latest package of the binary updates from LCS (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/migration-upgrade/download-hotfix-lcs#download-an-update).

ER configurations

You need to import the following or a higher version of the ER configurations from Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS):

  • Retail channel data.version.2

  • Archiving DMM.version.2.1

  • Retail data archive FR.version.2.1

Fix downloading instructions are here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/analytics/download-electronic-reporting-configuration-lcs.

After you import the configurations, on the Retail parameters page, on the Electronic documents tab, in the Retail data archive export format field, select the Retail data archive (FR) format.
