Check grammar and spelling with the Microsoft Editor browser extension

The Editor browser extension checks for grammar and spelling mistakes, and it makes suggestions for refining your writing, like addressing passive voice or wordiness. Click an underlined word to see a list of suggested revisions.

Editor runs as an extension on Edge or Chrome. Get it from your browser's app store:

More features coming

Editor checks for grammar and refinements in more than 20 languages (and checks spelling in 89). For information about the issues that Editor checks in various languages, see Editor's spelling, grammar, and refinement availability by language.

The browser extension works on most sites, but not all. Specifically, Google Docs is not yet supported, and if you are using Gmail, you'll need to turn off spelling and grammar checking in Gmail settings. We will be making updates to the Editor browser extension in the coming months to add more capabilities.
