Symptoms

When you change Microsoft Outlook Web Access options by using the Set-MailboxMessageConfiguration cmdlet in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment, CPU resources are used up on a mailbox server that is running Exchange Server 2010. When this occurs, many of the following events are logged on the Exchange Server 2010 Client Access server:

Cause

This issue occurs because an infinite loop occurs when the Set-MailboxMessageConfiguration cmdlet is executed. This behavior causes the server that is running Exchange Server 2010 and has the Client Access server role installed to continuously retry writing a configuration file to the mailbox.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
