Customizable templates are available in the following sections:
Allergies History of Present Illness
Physical Exam Results Assessment and Plan ProcedureEach of the six sections will have a pre-suggested default template. You can choose to use the template as it is, modify it, or create a new one from the library.
You can set up multiple templates for each section, allowing you to select the most appropriate one based on the context of the encounter.
Steps to create an additional customizable template

Navigate to the Settings menu (A) and then choose Library (B).

Select Customizable templates.

Select New item at the bottom of the screen.

Fill in the required sections:
(A) Enter the name for the custom template. (B) Choose the appropriate note section the template will apply to from the drop-down list. (C) The name selected in Step A will populate here. Edit if desired. (D) Enter a brief description of the template. (This is optional.) (E) Type or copy and paste the desired content of the custom template. (F) Select Save.
You may enter as many custom template options as you'd like for each of the six sections. There is a 10,000 character limit per template, which equates to approximately 1600 to 2000 words, including spaces. However, for optimal results, we recommend that custom templates not exceed 8,000 characters.
Selecting from among multiple customizable templates
Select a template to run as auto-style
To select a customizable template as the default style for a section, go to Settings > Note style & format > Style. Scroll to the appropriate note section. Select the Template drop-down menu and choose the desired custom template from the list. The template selected will be part of your default style settings.
Manually select a template to apply
You can manually select a template for an encounter, allowing you to structure a section differently from your default settings. To manually apply a customizable template, please follow these steps:
1. Select the Library icon.
2. Select the desired template from the drop-down list.
Repeat for any of the other sections that offer a customizable template option where you wish to apply a different template than your default setting.
Customizable template source
There are 3 possibilities for the content source when applying a customizable template.
1. Use both transcript and generated note. Ask your administrator to enable the feature flag called "transcript-aware customizable template." This allows the customizable template to generate section output that includes both the transcript and the generated note.
2. Use generated note only. Ask your administrator to disable the feature flag called "transcript-aware customizable template." This allows the customizable template to generate section output using only the generated note.
3. Use transcript only. If you prefer to have your custom template generate section output using only the transcript, do both of the following:

Ask your administrator to enable the feature flag called "transcript-aware customizable template."
