This article describes the issue that is fixed in the Microsoft Office 2010 hotfix package that is dated August 13, 2013.
Issue that this hotfix package fixes
Assume that you create a custom macro that executes many individual copy and paste operations in Excel 2010. When you run the macro, it takes longer than expected to complete the copy and paste operations.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

You do not have to restart the computer after you install this hotfix.
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.
Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.
Active Clipboard that executes many functionality during copy and paste operations is integrated in Microsoft Office 2010. After you install this hotfix package, you can follow these steps to turn off Active Clipboard completely:
Exit all Office applications before you modify the registry.
After you turn off Active Clipboard completely, you cannot use the functionality that is described on the following Microsoft website:
Copy and paste multiple items by using the Office Clipboard
Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type AcbControl, and then press Enter.
In the Details pane, right-click AcbControl, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 2147483648, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor.
This hotfix package may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build. This hotfix package contains only the files that you must have to resolve the issue that listed in this article.
The global version of this hotfix package uses a Microsoft Windows Installer package to install the hotfix package. The dates and the times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in the following table. When you view the file information, the date is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
