Download and install the update
You can use Windows Update to download and install the update (recommended).
Note The update for Office Home and Student 2013 RT is available only from Microsoft Update.
To get the standalone package for this update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
Note This update applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. This update does not apply to Office 2013 Click-to-Run edition such as Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium.

Start an Office 2013 application such as Microsoft Word 2013.

On the File menu, click Account.

For Office 2013 Click-to-Run edition, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based Office 2013 edition, the Update Options item is not displayed.
