This security update resolves a Microsoft SharePoint Server remote code execution vulnerability, Microsoft SharePoint remote code execution vulnerability, and Microsoft SharePoint Server information disclosure vulnerability.   • To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019 installed on the computer.

Improvements and fixes

This security update contains a fix for the following nonsecurity issue in SharePoint Server 2019:

  • Fixes an issue in which users who have the Add Items permission but not the Edit Items permission cannot upload items through the modern UI.

Known issues in this update

This security update introduces a change where the Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.SPThemes class is marked as unsafe in all Web.config files. This change has inadvertently caused some SharePoint PowerShell cmdlets to not function properly. For example, the Test-SPContentDatabase cmdlet, the cmdlet that enables the Document Sets feature, and the cmdlet that enables the Video and Rich Media feature.
