Applies ToSharePoint Server 2010

Summary

This article describes the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 issues that are fixed in the SharePoint Server 2010 hotfix package that is dated August 31, 2010.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario. By using the Dual Chinese Search web part, you perform a search by using the search function in a document library and then you view the search results. In this scenario, when you click the link or move the mouse pointer over the link, the JavaScript is triggered.

  • When you crawl the HTML documents that are tagged together with NOINDEX meta-tags, the HTML documents are honored differently between the FAST Connector and the SharePoint Search Server Connector.

  • When you try to manage the Secure Store Service in the Microsoft Search Server 2010 Express, you receive the following error message on the page:

The trial period for this product has expired.

  • Consider the following scenario. By default, the SharePoint Server 2010 server contains a policy to keep the change logs for 60 days. You take an external list offline from a SharePoint Server 2010 site. In this scenario, the change log of the first operation is deleted by the policy. Without the change log, the SharePoint server cannot determine whether to rebuild the client installation package. Therefore, you cannot take a list offline again after 60 days.

  • Consider the following scenario. You have a Microsoft SQL Server database in an internal domain. You use SQL authentication to connect to a database from an external domain where the Web Front End is located. In this scenario, the Search Service Application cannot be configured. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

"New-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication : A database exception occured when creating Search Application: Windows NT user or group 'SPDomain\search.account' not found. Check the name again."
