Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You try to set up a dual-monitor on a computer that runs Windows 8.1.

You select display identification on a monitor.

The DPI of this monitor is the same as the ratio of its resolution to the other's DPI. For example, this monitor has 150% DPI, and resolution is 1.5 times bigger than the other's DPI.
In this scenario, the display identification number may still overlap.
Resolution
To obtain this update, install the November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.
