Error calling eOrder OAPurchase Pipeline

Question

I am getting the following error when clicking the Purchase button in eOrder to place an Order.

We are sorry, but we are unable to process your request: Error calling eOrder OAPurchase Pipeline Pipeline Execution Error - detailed error description: Component Execution failed for component[0x2] hr: 0x80040584 ProgID: GPSMSCSDOC.OrderAccept.1 Please go back, correct the error and try again.

What could be the cause of this error?

Answer

You will want to make sure the MSDTC service is started on both the IIS server and SQL server. Also make sure that you have a currency setup ( Setup - System - Currency ), the company has access to that currency ( Setup - System - Multicurrency Access ), and you have it selected as a functional currency ( Setup - Financial - Multicurrency ). This has to be setup even if you are not registered for Multicurrency.
