Symptoms

Assume that you use a RealTimeData (RTD) function in a Microsoft Excel 2010 or an Office Excel 2007 workbook. When the RTD server specifies dynamically changing topic IDs, the Excel.exe process does not reclaim memory correctly. Additionally, Excel consumes memory at an increasing rate.

Workaround

We currently do not have a resolution for this issue. We recommend that you apply one of following methods to work around this issue:

  • Do not use the Excel RTD function together with dynamically changing topic IDs.

  • Restart Excel 2010 or Office Excel 2007 when they consume excessive memory.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
