ISSUE

Excel for the web may not show the Insert PivotTable button in the ribbon in the following cases:

  • A workbook stored in OneDrive or SharePoint opened anonymously (not logged in) from a link set to “Anyone with the link can edit”.

  • A workbook stored in an external storage service like box.com or dropbox.com and opened in Excel for the web

STATUS: FIXED

The issue is fixed in Excel for the web, Build 16.0.15718.37962 or above. It was released to Production on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
